Statements for Your Accountant
What to Provide Your Accountant
For year-end accounts or tax returns, your accountant typically needs:
From SAPI:
- Monthly statements for the tax year
- Annual summary
- Outstanding balance letter (as of year-end date)
- Copy of the advance agreement
From you:
- Bank statements showing collections
- Advance funding confirmation
- Purpose of funds (for capital allowances or expense treatment)
Tax Treatment of Advances
Not tax advice (consult your accountant):
Advance received:
Not taxable income (it's a liability, not income)
Repayments:
Not tax-deductible as "loan repayments" (this is purchasing future receivables, not a loan)
Cost of financing (factor rate fee):
May be tax-deductible as a business expense—consult your accountant
Your accountant will advise on how to properly account for payment-linked advances in your financial statements and tax returns.
Requesting Letters for Third Parties
If you need SAPI to send information directly to a third party (accountant, solicitor, another lender):
Authorization required:
Email [email protected] with:
- Subject: "Third Party Disclosure Authorization - [Account Reference]"
- Third party name and contact details
- What information they need
- Your explicit authorization: "I authorize SAPI to disclose [specific information] to [third party]"
- Your signature (typed name in email or attached signed letter)
SAPI will:
- Verify the request came from you
- Send the information directly to the third party
- CC you on the communication
